Rahul Vishwanath earned a master’s degree in 2015 from National Institute of Technology, Surat, India, specializing in turbomachines. Subsequently, he was a research associate at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore from 2015-2017 working on flow-flame interactions in turbulent premixed flames. In fall 2017, he joined the University of Toronto Institute of Aerospace Studies (UTIAS) for his doctoral research, where he worked on several aspects of turbulent spray combustion in model combustors including soot formation. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology where his research is focused on high-pressure spray flames operating at near-engine conditions, with a push towards development of low-emission combustors utilizing sustainable fuels.
