Biography

Conner Godbold worked under Adam Steinberg. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2019. While completing his undergraduate degree, Conner worked in the automotive industry. Starting at Competition Cams, Conner developed advanced valvetrain components. Next, he worked at AVL Racing in Graz, Austria, developing test beds for teams in all forms of high-level racing. During a portion of his undergraduate career, Conner also conducted research at Oak Ridge National Lab in the Vehicle Systems Integration Lab, focusing on incorporating hybrid technology into large diesel engines. At Georgia Tech, Conner utilized advanced laser-based diagnostics to research practical fuel spray atomization and mixing, studied nitric oxide formation under gas turbine-relevant conditions, and developed test articles for studying ignition at high-altitude conditions.
